About the role

Internship Program Overview At Netsmart, we're passionate about using technology to make a meaningful impact in healthcare. We partner with organizations across the country that provide mental health and addiction treatment, intellectual and developmental disability support, senior living, home health, hospice, palliative care, and other essential human services. Through innovation and collaboration, we help caregivers and providers deliver better outcomes and improve the lives of the individuals and communities they serve. Our Futures Program is designed for students who want to gain real-world experience while making a meaningful impact. During this 10-week summer experience, participants work on hands-on projects, build connections with leaders and associates across Netsmart, and take part in professional development, networking, and social events. As a Future, you'll gain valuable skills, explore healthcare technology, and experience a culture built on collaboration, innovation, and purpose, all while contributing to work that truly matters. If you aren't local to the Kansas City Metro, we will have housing options for you available (certain criteria will have to be met to qualify for housing).Netsmart is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer, providing equal employment and advancement opportunities to all individuals. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all associates. Pursuant to Netsmart policy, all post-offer candidates are required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check, including a drug screen, which is provided at Netsmart's sole expense. In the event a candidate tests positive for a controlled substance, Netsmart will rescind the offer of employment unless the individual can provide proof of valid prescription to Netsmart's third party screening provider. All applicants for employment must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Netsmart does not provide work visa sponsorship for this position.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
