Dimensional Inspection Technician – Grinding Operations Are you built for precision? Do you enjoy using gauges to verify tight tolerances? Your impact:
- Own safety and environmental stewardship in line with the Amsted Rail Health & Safety program.
- Verify dimensions on processed workpieces against prints/specs using the right gauges and methods from the departmental quality plan.
- Conduct and assist with first-piece inspections; monitor product condition and surface quality.
- Help setup personnel with changeovers, tooling/attachment swaps, and line/cell readiness.
- Capture inspection and test data with precision; log production runs in the company system.
- Quarantine nonconforming parts and alert the appropriate personnel and supervisors rapidly.
- Manually handle components or use hoists/cranes to position them safely.
- Jump in where needed: operate equipment, pack products, and handle materials.
- To meet expectations, you should be able to carry out each essential function satisfactorily, with or without accommodation.
- What you bring
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug & background screening
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 10–50 lbs. Commitment to wear department-required, employer-provided PPE.Comfort working on your feet and moving throughout the area for the full shift.
- Mechanical aptitude; prior industrial experience preferred.
