Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Weekend, Holiday, and Call Requirements: None indicated Training: Department-specific training provided by experienced Pathology Assistants Pathologists' Assistant Job Requirements At least 1 year of experience as a Pathology Assistant or Pathologists' Assistant, with increasing experience in case complexity and volume Current ASCP certification as a Pathologists' Assistant is required Completion of an accredited Pathologists' Assistant program preferred Bachelor's degree required Experience in an academic medical center preferred Experience with Epic Beaker AP and voice recognition systems preferred Strong knowledge of anatomic pathology specimen handling, gross examination, and surgical pathology procedures Pathology Assistant Responsibilities Perform gross examination of simple, moderate, and complex tissue specimens Process a varied daily workload consisting of small specimens, biopsies, and complex surgical pathology cases Assist with frozen sections, averaging approximately 5-10 cases per day Safely use cryostats, bone saws, scalpels, knives, and other gross room equipment Accurately document specimen findings and workflow in Epic Beaker AP and related laboratory information systems Collaborate with pathologists, residents, laboratory professionals, and other members of the anatomic pathology team Maintain quality, safety, and regulatory standards throughout specimen preparation and examination Apply now to join this hospital pathology team and advance your career with a Pathology Assistant travel assignment in Morgantown, West Virginia.
