Location Richburg, SCMonroe, NCRichland, WAOakdale, PAProgram Duration:10 Weeks | Summer 2027 Target Students: Undergraduate and Graduate Students - Environmental, Health & Safety or related field Make Safety a Part of Every Process - Intern in EHS at ATI At ATI, we engineer specialty materials that power the next generation of aircraft, spacecraft, surgical implants, and energy systems. As anEHS Intern, you'll gain hands‑on experience supporting safety initiatives across ATI's manufacturing operations. You'll work with EHS professionals and plant teams to identify risks, strengthen safety awareness, and develop practical solutions that help create a safer workplace. What You'll Work On Depending on your project assignment, you may: Develop and facilitate facility safety inspectionsto identify potential hazards and opportunities for improvement. Conduct formal task-based risk assessmentsto evaluate potential hazards associated with specific work activities and recommend appropriate controls. Evaluate AI and similar technology solutionsthat could improve safety communication, awareness, and engagement. Partner with EHS and operations teams to supportfacility safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts. Document findings and communicate recommendations to appropriate stakeholders. What You'll Gain Hands‑on experience supporting Environmental, Health & Safety programsin a manufacturing environment. Practical experience conductingfacility safety inspections and hazard identification. Experience performingtask‑based risk assessmentsand evaluating potential safety risks. Exposure to innovativetechnology and AI applications for workplace safety. Development of safety communication and awareness strategies. Experience collaborating withEHS professionals and manufacturing operations teams. Opportunities to strengthenproblem‑solving, communication, and risk assessment skills. A deeper understanding of how EHS principles are applied in a real-world manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Currently pursuing a degree in: Environmental, Health & Safety Occupational Safety & Health Environmental Science Industrial Hygiene Related field Interest in working in amanufacturing environment. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to identify potential workplace hazards and opportunities for improvement. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with EHS and operations teams. Interest in safety technology and innovative approaches to safety communication.
