About the role
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding orders, shipments, invoices, inventory, and account-related issues in a professional and timely manner
- Process customer orders and maintain accurate records
- Generate inventory and stock reports to confirm product availability
- Prepare shipping documentation, work orders, and related paperwork
- Coordinate rush orders and special shipping requests with operations and traffic departments
- Communicate with internal teams to ensure customer expectations and service standards are met
- Verify invoices and assist with accurate account billing
- Provide shipment tracking and tracing information to customers
- Maintain damage reports, backorder logs, and account documentation
- Escalate customer concerns or service issues to management as needed
- Serve as the primary communication link between warehouse operations and customers regarding orders, shipments, and invoicing
- Maintain organized files and records related to customer accounts
- Update and maintain process and procedure documentation for assigned accounts
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous shipping and receiving experience required
- Experience in a customer service or distribution environment preferred
- Proficiency with Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel required
- Strong computer skills and accurate data entry abilities
- Familiarity with shipping systems such as UPS and FedExExcellent communication and customer service skills
- Basic typing and 10-key skills
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed
- Comfortable working in a warehouse or distribution environment
