About the role
Looking to advise movie studios, entertainment clients, tech companies, and F500 businesses on L&E disputes and labor issues? Want to do that while working in a relaxed environment with friendly people who want you to succeed? If so, this is a great opportunity for you.
About the Role:
We are assisting a Chambers-ranked boutique that is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate with three or more years of experience to join its Los Angeles office. You will join a group of more than 20 dedicated Labor & Employment attorneys handling the full range of California employment matters. You have direct client contact and partner access that larger platforms defer until much later in an associate's career.
About the Practice:
- This Labor & Employment group is ranked Band 1 in California in Chambers USA. The team is a close advisor of movie studios, producers, entertainment companies, tech companies, and F1000 companies on a range of labor disputes.
- The firm staffs cases so that associates work directly with the senior attorneys; not buried on huge teams with no visibility.
- The team is friendly and supportive, so turnover is rare. The team helps people move in-house with clients, too, so there are real in-house offramps.
- What You'll Work OnWage & hour class actions and PAGA representative actions
- Single-plaintiff employment litigation across discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims
- Traditional labor matters
- Day-to-day counseling of clients on employment issues as they arise
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years of employment litigation experience (mid-level through senior associate)
- The team is willing to take an experienced commercial litigator who wants to build an L&E practice
- Active California bar admission
- Demonstrated experience managing employment litigation matters, both single-plaintiff and class (or strong commercial litigation experience)
- Strong writing skills
- A proactive, client-facing approach to advising on employment matters
- A desire to build a practice
- Outstanding academic credentials

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
