About the role

HWL Manufacturing is a growing contract manufacturer of personal care, cosmetic, and household products in North Phoenix. We're looking for a handy, hands-on Facilities & Maintenance Manager to keep our buildings and production equipment running safely and reliably. You'll lead one direct report. What you'll own Supervise, schedule, and train one maintenance/facilities team member Keep production equipment running: troubleshoot, repair, and keep downtime low Build and run a preventive maintenance program, and keep PM and repair records audit-ready (GMP / ISO 22716)Facility upkeep: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, floors, walls, dock doors, and pallet racking Sanitation and cleaning standards across production areas Manage outside vendors and contractors, source spare parts, and track the maintenance budget Safety: lockout/tagout, OSHA compliance, and equipment safety training
What we're looking for: Handy. You can fix things yourself. Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, patching, painting, assembling and mounting equipment, replacing parts, and general repairs 3–5+ years of maintenance or facilities experience, ideally in manufacturing. Cosmetics, food, beverage, pharma, or nutraceuticals preferred Experience supervising or leading at least one other person Self-starter who is comfortable turning wrenches and also setting up systems and schedules Comfortable with computers and open to learning new tools
Nice to have: Big plus: basic understanding of pumps and pneumatics Familiarity with GMP environments and documentation Forklift certification Why HWLOwn the facilities and maintenance function, with a team member reporting to you Get hands-on business experience with AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok.
