Role Description:
The New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Poway, CA. This position is responsible for coordinating and industrializing new PCB products from concept through production, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and sales teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing customer designs and specifications, defining manufacturing processes, supporting design for manufacturability (DFM), and preparing documentation, work instructions, and process flows for new products. The NPI Engineer conducts prototype builds and process trials, monitors performance, and drives improvements through data analysis and cross-functional collaboration. The role also involves managing project timelines, communicating status to stakeholders, and ensuring that new products meet technical, quality, cost, and delivery requirements before full-scale production.
Qualifications:
Strong analytical skills, including data interpretation, root cause analysis, and problem-solving in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Experience in Research and Development (R&D) and product development, with the ability to translate customer requirements into manufacturable PCB solutions.
Project management skills, including planning, organizing tasks, managing timelines, and coordinating cross-functional teams for NPI projects.
Hands-on experience with testing and validation of new products and processes, including test planning, execution, and documentation.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes, materials, and industry standards is highly beneficial.
Proficiency with technical documentation tools, CAD or PCB design software, and basic statistical analysis for process control is an advantage.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and work in a fast-paced, on-site production environment.
