About the role
Growing $3B AUM Private Credit Fund Seeks #2 Valuation Professional Our client is looking for a highly motivated individual for the position of Valuation Analyst/Associate as part of their global credit valuation team. This role requires interest from experienced candidates who have in-depth coverage of the private credit asset class, have the passion and skills to build detailed and versatile financial models with dynamic inputs, be comfortable building automations and visualizations with AI platforms, and have a mindset of building a best-in-class global processes from scratch. This is a cross-functional role that touches upon more than just ASC 820 valuation. This candidate will partner with the full range of fund functions (accounting, operations, tax, compliance, investment) to develop and maintain models that drive real-time decision making. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in corporate private credit valuation, understand the economics of each individual position, and be able to reason through unfamiliar concepts from first principles. Since this is a highly cross-functional role, this person should be able to tailor technical concepts to their audience; for example, discussing accounting impacts with the accounting team, cash impacts with the operations team, and key value drivers and sensitivities with the CFO. You will directly see your models drive decisions affecting fund performance, capital allocation, leverage, and investor returns.
Qualifications:
Strong academic background in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, or a related field.
At least 2+ years of experience in portfolio monitoring and valuations, preferably in private credit valuation.
Excellent financial modeling skills.
Highest standards of professionalism, integrity, honesty, and reliability.
Strong analytical skills in understanding the driving factors for credit valuations and the overall economics of credit assets.
Good knowledge of global fund and corporate vehicle structures.
Strong collaborator with excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and technology skills.
Keen to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced work environment.
Independent and self-directed, with the ability to manage tasks effectively and complete work within agreed timelines.
CFA or other relevant professional certification is a plus.
Understanding of data science tools and relevant programming languages is a plus.
