DescriptionLeidos' Defense Systems Mechanical Design & Analysis Department is seeking a mechanical design engineer to join our team in Huntsville Alabama designing the next generation of radars to protect America and its allies. You will lead an Integrate Product Team (IPT) as they develop the Low Band Surveillance (LBS) product.You will direct the technical work of a team of engineers, ensuring their work meets program requirements, schedule milestones, and budget constraints. Technical depth and understanding of execution are essential to coordinate between subsystem leads and ensure alignment across the team.This is not your averageengineeringposition. Share your resume with us today!Primary ResponsibilitiesIntegrated Product Team Leadership:Own overall execution performance for the IPT scope.Lead cost, schedule, and technical performance alignment for the hardware team.Ensure program commitments are executable and aligned to baselineobjectives.Technical Oversight:Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver on programobjectives.Partner with subsystem leads and engineering teams to ensure technical alignment supports program goals.Drive disciplined execution and proactive risk management across the IPT.Risk and Opportunity Management:Identify, assess, and manage IPT risks and opportunities.Develop and implement mitigation plans to address risks and capitalize on opportunities.Stakeholder Engagement:Provide clear and concise status communication to leadership and stakeholders.Represent the IPT in governance forums and lead design reviews.Maintain compliance with contractual requirements and internal governance standards.Execution Excellence:Drive issue resolution across functional boundaries to ensure program success.Promote a culture focused on outcomes, execution discipline, and continuous improvement.Basic QualificationsBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited university12+ years of applicable experience or 10+ years with MS degree.Experience leading a team of engineers to develop solutions that meet technical, cost, and schedule requirementsStrong SolidWorks userStrong desire to lead, guide, and mentorActive secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain secret security clearancePreferred QualificationsWindchill PLM experienceDesign and/or Integration experience in the following areas:- Mobile equipment-Tactical trailers-Radar Systems-Mechanism Design-Design for ManufacturabilityIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
