About the role

Required Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in customs/import compliance, with substantial experience in the food industry (seafood experience strongly preferred).Strong, working knowledge of FDA import requirements, including Prior Notice, FSVP, and seafood HACCP; demonstrated experience interacting directly with FDA on import matters. Solid understanding of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, HTS classification, valuation, and entry processes. Experience managing or working closely with customs brokers and freight forwarders on import documentation and entry filings. Proven track record resolving import holds, detentions, or refusals in a timely, low-disruption manner. Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping discipline, with the ability to maintain audit-ready compliance documentation. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to represent the company professionally with regulatory agencies (FDA, CBP) and external partners. Ability to interpret and translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable internal processes and training. Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
