Role Description: The Administrative Assistant role is a full-time remote position supporting the Department of Policy and Development Economics. The individual in this role will manage daily administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, coordinating virtual events, and organizing digital files and records. The role involves handling phone and email communications, preparing correspondence, and assisting with the drafting and formatting of documents, reports, and presentations. The Administrative Assistant will support faculty and departmental leadership with executive-level administrative tasks, such as organizing online meetings, following up on action items, and tracking deadlines. Additional responsibilities include maintaining organized digital clerical systems, assisting with data entry, supporting remote student and partner inquiries, and ensuring smooth coordination of departmental activities across online platforms.
Qualifications: Strong Administrative Assistance and Executive Administrative Assistance skills to support department leadership and faculty effectively. Solid Clerical Skills, including document preparation, digital filing, data entry, and records management. Effective Communication and professional Phone Etiquette for interacting with students, faculty, and external partners. Proficiency with office productivity tools and remote collaboration platforms (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, email, video conferencing).Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and reliability in meeting deadlines. Ability to work independently in a remote environment, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality. Prior experience in a university, academic, or research setting is an advantage. Relevant diploma or degree in administration, office management, or a related field is preferred.
