Position Title:
Site Supervisor III/ Life Support/ Water Quality Helper Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico, and 87102 Duration: 02 year Work Schedule: Full-time; generally from 8 am to 5 pm Tuesday to Saturday. Occasional short periods of weekend, holiday, and evening work may be required.
Pay rate:
$14.00/hr. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Learning about all aspects of Life Support and Water Quality Working with and/or around a variety of aquatic animal species including, koi, sharks, polar bears, penguins, elephants, hippos, alligators, and others Assist with aquatic life support systems such as pumps, filters, valves, and any other related equipment Testing and analysis of water quality Aquatic clean up General maintenance around the facility (Tingley Beach, Aquarium, Zoo, and Botanic Gardens) Perform duties and responsibilities as assigned To be considered for this position, you should have: Be comfortable working alone Have a friendly and open personality and enjoy working with a diverse cross section of individuals from a variety of departments at all levels of government and job positions Be punctual and a good self-starter Be a good team player Be comfortable working outdoors in variable weather conditions
Qualifications:
Applicants must be 18 years or older and physically able to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working in and around water, in a combination of indoor and outdoor environments, on slippery or uneven surfaces, and may involve exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, heat, cold and/or inclement weather conditions. Candidates must pass a security background check to be hired. Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, push, pull, read, write, and speak English.
