Reports To:
VP of Fintech Nations Benefits is looking for a Software Development Engineer II (Platform) to join our Fin Tech Engineering team in Plantation, FL.This role is ideal for a hands-on software engineer with experience in Java 21, Spring Boot 3.x, microservices, RESTful APIs, databases, cloud technologies, and modern Dev Ops practices.
What You’ll Do:
Design, develop, and maintain features for our Fin Tech application using Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x. Write clean, well-documented, efficient, and maintainable code. Integrate third-party APIs and services to extend application functionality. Collaborate with senior engineers and Product Managers to translate business requirements into technical designs and features. Participate in code reviews, share best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement. Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and stability. Debug and resolve application issues while maintaining performance and reliability. Help ensure software meets quality, security, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Suggest improvements to development processes, tools, and technologies. Contribute to a collaborative and knowledge-sharing engineering environment. Identify and help mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.2–4 years of professional experience with Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x. Strong experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development. Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB.Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Sonar Qube. Experience working in an Agile development environment. Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills. Experience with automated testing using JUnit, Mockito, and PITest.
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of Jenkins, Kubernetes, and other Dev Ops automation tools. Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React. Fin Tech experience or understanding of: Payment Systems Transaction Processing Data SecurityPCI-DSSPayments Domain Experience – Required Strong experience with Payment Processing, Payment Platforms, Payment Systems, and Transaction Processing Experience with Card Issuing and/or Card Acquiring Strong understanding of PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard)Experience with ISO 8583 messaging standards Knowledge of card transaction flows, authorization, clearing, settlement, and payment lifecycle Experience building secure, high-volume, low-latency payment applications Experience with payment tokenization, digital wallets, and secure credential provisioning is highly preferred Experience with Mastercard MDES, EMVCo standards, and token lifecycle management is a strong plus If you have experience building scalable Java applications and are interested in working on Fin Tech platforms, we’d love to hear from you.
