A Day in the Life of a Turf Technician As aTurf Technician, your day is spent diagnosing issues, making repairs, and performing maintenance that helps customers get the most out of their equipment. You may be working on riding mowers, zero-turn mowers, compact tractors, handheld equipment, or other turf and lawn & garden machines. One job may involve troubleshooting an engine issue, while the next is preventative maintenance or preparing equipment for the season ahead. You'll work in a shop environment alongside a team of experienced technicians, using your skills and tools to keep equipment running safely and efficiently. Every day is different, but the goal is always the same: do the job right and take care of the customer.
What You'll Do: As aTurf Technician, you will:diagnose, repair, and maintain lawn, garden, and turf equipmentperform routine service and preventative maintenance on customer and dealer-owned equipmenttroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issuesuse service manuals, tools, and diagnostic systems to complete repairs accuratelymaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areacomplete work orders, reports, and documentation accurately and on timetrack time and materials used on each repairparticipate in ongoing training to build your technical knowledgework closely with teammates to support shop productivity
What You Bring: You'll be a great fit for this Turf Technicianrole if you:enjoy hands-on mechanical work and solving problemstake pride in quality workmanship and attention to detailwork well independently and as part of a teamstay organized and dependable in a fast-paced shop environmentcare about safety and doing the job right the first timewant to continue learning and growing your technical skills What You Need to be aLand Pro Turf Technician:1+ years of experience performing service repairs on lawn & garden equipment or similar machinerymechanical aptitude with knowledge of small engines and equipment systemsability to perform repairs and maintenance using tools and service proceduresbasic computer skills and ability to complete digital work ordersability to safely operate equipment used for diagnosticsstrong verbal and written communication skillsability to lift 75 lbs. repeatedlyvalid driver's licensehigh school diploma or equivalent experience It's a Plus if You Have:experience with John Deere, turf, or lawn & garden equipmentbasic service technician certificationassociate degree in a technical fieldforklift certificationexperience using Service Advisor or similar software
