About the role

Job Description: We are looking for an experienced, dependable Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel trucks, petroleum tankers, and related equipment. This is a full-time position for someone who understands the importance of safety, preventative maintenance, DOT compliance, and keeping commercial trucks on the road.
Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks and tractors
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services
  • Repair air brakes, suspension, steering, electrical, air, and hydraulic systems
  • Troubleshoot engine, transmission, and drivetrain problems
  • Inspect and repair petroleum tanker trailers
  • Diagnose and repair trailer air systems, ABS, lighting, suspension, and braking systems
  • Perform DOT inspection-related repairs and help maintain fleet compliance
  • Identify safety issues before equipment is returned to service
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
  • Handle emergency and breakdown repairs when necessary
  • Keep the shop, tools, and work areas organized and safe
Qualifications:
  • Heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience preferred
  • Experience with Class 8 trucks and commercial trailers
  • Tanker or petroleum transportation experience is a strong plus
  • Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA equipment requirements
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plusCDL is a plus
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently
