About the role
To support a rapidly growing multi-state law firm, the remote Fractional General Counsel will serve as a strategic legal advisor to executive leadership, overseeing legal and regulatory aspects of business operations, including multi-state expansion, employment compliance, and corporate governance on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities
Advise on strategic expansion into new states and manage state compliance requirements
Draft and maintain employee handbooks while advising on multi-state employment law issues
Develop internal compliance policies and conduct legal risk assessments for executive leadership
Required Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school with an active bar license in good standing
7+ years of experience in corporate, employment, compliance, or general counsel roles
Experience supporting multi-state business operations, particularly in New York, Ohio, Florida, and Massachusetts
Background working with executive leadership teams in a law firm or professional services organization
Strong executive presence and business judgment
