Manager
SALARY
$150,000–$175,000
About the role
- Evaluate the current inbound sales process from initial customer contact through quote, follow-up, and final sale.
- Improve quote-to-sale conversion, responsiveness, follow-up discipline, and overall revenue generation.
- Establish structured follow-up expectations so opportunities do not depend on individual representative preference or informal judgment.
- Create operating practices that ensure viable opportunities receive appropriate follow-up rather than being prematurely abandoned or selectively pursued.
- Establish clear expectations around rep activity, customer contact, outstanding quotes, and pipeline progression.
- Increase total revenue captured from existing inbound demand.
- Lead the rehash/ and recovery process
- Manage and improve the company's rehash or lead-recovery process for opportunities that are not closed within the primary selling window.
- Define when and how open opportunities transition from the original sales representative to the rehash team.
- Establish clear ownership, follow-up cadence, and performance expectations for rehash activity.
- Measure recovery conversion and identify opportunities to continuously improve the model.
- Build a process that both recaptures missed revenue and strengthens accountability within the primary inside sales organization.
- Use metrics to manage performance
- Develop a performance-management rhythm using metrics including, as appropriate:
- Lead response
- Call activity
- Productive selling time
- Contact rate
- Quote volume
- Quote aging
- Follow-up activity
- Quote-to-sale conversion
- Close rate
- Revenue per representative
- Rehash conversion
- Sales productivity
- Pipeline progression
- Use these measures as management tools to identify problems, coach individuals, and improve sales execution.
- Improve systems and technology
- Identify friction, inefficiencies and gaps across the sales funnel.
- Improve CRM discipline and adoption.
- Build processes and system-supported workflows that make disciplined follow-up easier for representatives.
- Evaluate opportunities for automation, reminders, routing, and workflow improvements.
- Partner with internal teams to improve reporting and visibility into sales performance.
- Run structured tests of new processes, measure results, and scale approaches that improve performance.
- Partner closely with Marketing
- Work closely with Performance Marketing to connect marketing activity with actual sales outcomes.
- Provide structured feedback regarding lead quality, customer behavior, and conversion.
- Analyze performance across the complete funnel from lead generation through customer contact, quote, and sale.
- Help distinguish marketing-volume issues from sales-execution issues.
- Partner on experiments designed to improve both lead quality and downstream conversion.
- Create a shared operating language between Marketing and Sales around funnel performance and revenue.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in inside sales, inbound sales, direct-response sales, or a closely related environment.
- Significant experience directly managing sales representatives, rather than solely supporting a sales organization through operations, analytics, or enablement.
- Experience leading a high-performance inside-sales, contact-center, or call-center sales team.
- Demonstrated understanding of how to sell and how to coach others to sell.
- Track record of improving conversion, sales productivity, or revenue performance.
- Experience building or improving structured customer follow-up processes.
- Strong performance-management and coaching capability.
- Experience using CRM systems, sales metrics, and funnel analytics to manage performance.
- Demonstrated ability to implement operational changes within an active sales organization.
- Strongly preferred
- Experience in a high-volume inbound or direct-response environment.
- Experience with considered consumer purchases where customers frequently require multiple contacts before closing.
- Experience managing rehash, lead-recovery, aged-lead, or similar sales processes.
- Experience partnering closely with Performance Marketing or demand-generation teams.
- Experience redesigning sales incentives, workflows, or accountability systems.
- Experience leading teams through meaningful performance or cultural change.
- You are likely to succeed in this role if you are equally comfortable:
- Reviewing conversion data and sitting beside a salesperson coaching a call.
- Challenging a broken process and holding an individual accountable for execution.
- Creating structure without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Testing a new approach and changing direction when the results do not support it.
- Working with Marketing on funnel performance and working with sales representatives on the behaviors required to convert those leads.
- Setting a high bar while helping people understand how to reach it.
- You believe strong sales cultures combine clarity, coaching, accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement.
- Success will ultimately be reflected in:
- Stronger quote-to-sale conversion.
- Improved follow-up discipline.
- Increased revenue captured from inbound opportunities.
- Better utilization of sales representatives' time.
- Increased recovery of aged or previously unclosed opportunities.
- Greater visibility into sales funnel performance.

- Stronger frontline sales capability.
- Better coordination between Marketing and Sales.

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
