About the role
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate where practicable multiple stranding, flex conduit, and captivated ball machines to produce a variety of types of core and cable to Triumph standards and specifications. Select gear ratio from gear chart, select and mount proper gears, capstans, knives, dies. Load reel, wire bobbins into machine, mount cable reel, and thread core and/or wires through pulleys and dies. Lock and secure bobbin holders, tension devices, make necessary adjustments to tension devices electronic induction heater, and dies to obtain and maintain required quality standards Check work produced using a wide variety of checking and measuring instruments; submit first and last piece of cable on each reel to Cable Inspector for testing of mechanical properties. Maintain machines in proper operating condition, lubricate bearings, maintain quenching oil level, and check cooling water flow. Change tension belts, replace clutch plates, etc. Braze, silver solder, and/or butt-weld broken wires or cable as necessary. Oil, wrap, and store wire. Assist in receiving and storing wire. Detect faulty operation of machines and/or defective work. Report all unusual conditions to Foreman and/or Group Leader. The above description covers the most significant duties performed, but does not exclude other work assignments not mentioned which may be inherent in the job.
