Tax Senior Manager | $200,000–$250,000 | NYCAn established and growing financial and tax advisory firm is looking to hire an experienced Tax Senior Manager to take ownership of key client relationships, lead complex tax engagements and support the continued development of its tax team. The firm works closely with entrepreneurial businesses, business owners and high-net-worth clients, providing a combination of tax compliance, planning and advisory services. This is a senior, client-facing position offering significant autonomy, flexibility and long-term progression.
What you’ll be doing: Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, building strong long-term relationships. Perform final-level review of complex tax returns, workpapers and technical issues. Advise clients on tax planning strategies and future tax requirements. Manage correspondence and matters involving federal and state tax authorities. Review and interpret wills and trust documents. Analyse client tax information to identify planning opportunities and maximise outcomes. Research changes in tax legislation, regulations and emerging tax issues. Ensure compliance with federal and state tax requirements. Supervise, mentor and develop tax professionals within the team. Manage multiple engagements and competing deadlines. Work closely with Partners on engagement progress, technical matters and client issues. What they’re looking for 10+ years of public accounting tax experience, covering both compliance and advisory work. At least 2 years in a tax management position with responsibility for both clients and staff. Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Accounting, Tax or a related discipline. Strong technical knowledge of federal and state taxation. Experience independently managing client relationships and engagements. Strong tax research and analytical skills.
