About On Spec BrandsOn Spec Brands is a fast-moving, design-forward brand studio. We partner with major retailers like Walmart and Target to build consumer product brands and bring standout products to market across home electronics, home goods, and kitchen.About the RoleWe're looking for a rare hybrid — someone who can design, source, and own packaging end to end. You'll take products from concept and design through sourcing, production, and shelf: create the look and the packaging, then work directly with our Asia supply base to bring it to life. If you're a designer who knows factories (or a sourcing pro who can genuinely design), move fast, and stay relentlessly organized, this is for you.What You'll DoDesign products and packaging — from concept, CMF, and dielines through production-ready files. Source and manage suppliers across hard-goods categories (electronics, home goods, kitchen), primarily in China and across Asia. Own supplier negotiations, pricing, timelines, and day-to-day factory relationships. Take products from concept to shelf, partnering with our retail teams. Travel overseas as needed for factory visits, quality, and production oversight.What We're Looking ForHands-on product and packaging design skills — industrial and/or graphic design, comfortable with tools like Adobe Illustrator and CAD/Keyshot, and fluent in dielines and packaging structure. Multiple years of hands-on sourcing experience in Asia, with China expertise strongly preferred. Experience in hard-goods categories such as electronics, home goods, and kitchen. A portfolio showing products and packaging you've designed and brought to market. A track record of moving fast and being exceptionally organized. Willing and able to travel overseas when needed. Based in or near New York preferred. Mandarin a plus, but not required.Compensation$85,000–$125,000 per year, based on experience.
