Full-Time/Permanent Onsite in AustinWe've spent the last 50 years scaling to 4 offices and becoming a leading architecture, interior design, and planning firm. Our architecture team is seeking a senior Project Designer to lead the planning and design of complex laboratory environments. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with previous lab planning expertise who is ready to mentor team members, lead project teams, and expand their involvement in client relationships. You will work across all phases of project delivery, collaborating with clients, consultants, and internal teams to create high-performance life sciences, R&D, pharmaceutical, higher education, and technical laboratory facilities. What You Need for this Position Bachelor's degree in Architecture Lab/life science related project experience Production work with Revit Working knowledge of parametric modeling (Grasshopper, Dynamo) is a plus Working knowledge of Rhino is a plus Technology-forward thinking and strong graphics skills Strong, comprehensive knowledge of architectural principles/practices Advanced knowledge of building codes, standards, and building structures Experience and/or curiosity with AI tools is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Lead laboratory and life science projects from programming and planning through construction
- Facilitate user group meetings, develop laboratory programs, space adjacencies, and equipment layouts
- Translate technical requirements into clear, well-coordinated architectural and interior design solutions
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines, consultants, and vendors to ensure fully integrated designs
