About the role
Heavy Duty Steward The Heavy Duty Steward is responsible for performing all phases of kitchen cleaning to maintain safe and sanitary conditions while under the Steward's supervision. Responsibilities include breakdown, feed, catch and proper sorting of all china, silverware and glassware as it is brought to the Dish Room. The role also involves washing pots and pans and properly sorting and storing them on the pot shelves. Cleaning walls, ceilings, baseboards, floor drains, hand sinks, tables and cutting boards, sweeping and mopping all floors, and removing trash from the kitchen areas to the Trash Room are part of the duties. Additionally, the Heavy Duty Steward is responsible for polishing silver, glass and brass in all outlets as needed, cleaning and maintaining dish machines in all outlets, and washing kettle pots on hot line as needed. The position also requires cleaning the loading dock bay area with a pressure washer and inventorying china, glass, silver and linen. The Heavy Duty Steward must inform the Steward of needed supplies.
Qualifications:
Prior experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Capable of lifting and moving heavy objects. Strong people skills and communication skills including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Minimum age is 18 years old.
