About the role
Marketing & Business Development Practice Specialist We’re seeking an experienced Marketing & Business Development Practice Specialist for our client. The Specialist reports to the CMO and partners with assigned practice and industry groups to develop growth strategies, strengthen client relationships, identify opportunities, and support successful pursuits. The role primarily supports the AgTech, Life Sciences, and Technology + Artificial Intelligence industry groups and related practices, while coordinating client, market, and pursuit initiatives across the Marketing & Business Development Department. This is a full time direct hire role requiring working in downtown Raleigh, NC. A competitive salary and benefits are provided. There are no sponsorships or third party arrangements for this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
For assigned practices and industries: Develop and execute business development plans that support practice priorities, client growth, and revenue goals. Identify and advance pursuit, cross-selling, and client-targeting opportunities. Research markets, clients, industries, and competitors to inform strategy and identify opportunities. Monitor legal and industry developments and share relevant insights and recommendations. Develop pitches, presentations, and responses to RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs. Coordinate pursuit research, positioning, attorney input, and submissions. Partner with the Marketing & Business Development team on events, thought leadership, sponsorships, rankings, awards, digital content, collateral, and public relations. Coordinate with the Director of Client Services and other stakeholders on priorities, client initiatives, and pursuits. Use AI, CRM/ERM platforms, and other tools to improve efficiency, insights, and decision-making. Track pipeline, proposal, client-engagement, and performance metrics; recommend improvements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience. At least four years of progressive marketing or business development experience, including successful growth initiatives. Proficiency in learning and using business development technology to improve efficiency, collaboration, and results. Excellent writing, editing, grammar, and proofreading skills. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders. Strong organization, project management, and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills. A proactive, collaborative, solutions-focused approach to client service. Initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently. Professionalism, accountability, reliability, and effective teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
Law firm or professional services experience. Experience with CRM/ERM systems, email marketing platforms, design software, and firm-approved generative AI tools.
