About the role

Billing Facilitator The Billing Facilitator is responsible for responding to all billing issues. Responding to patient inquiries, and provider requests for corrections. Works with payers, patients, collection agencies, compliance, and billing vendors to ensure correct and timely physician billing.
Responsibilities: Deals directly with patients to resolve non-routine billing issues. Serves as the initial contact for billing vendor in the resolution of billing issues that are beyond the vendor's scope of services. Provides billing vendor with required documents and information that vendor does not have access to (e.g., medical chart records). Researches payments received that do not contain back up documentation. Assists in the preparation of statistical reports by compiling and researching data. Responds to third party requests for information. Assist with refund process. Works with collection agency to verify account legitimacy and payment data. Assists with audits and reviews. Maintains patient confidentiality by adhering to all HIPAA guidelines. Displays positive attitude and constructively contributes to work team. Effectively uses automated systems to perform work assignments. Performs other tasks as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of professional billing experience in a health care industry, required.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent, required. Bachelor's degree, preferred.
Licenses / Certifications: Other: Able to multi-task and pay attention to detail, knowledge of basic computer applications. Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
