Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver high-leverage, evidence-based math interventions (Tier 2 and Tier 3) in small-group and individual settings, focusing on specific conceptual and procedural gaps identified through diagnostic data. Design and adapt intervention materials, utilizing district-adopted core resources (e.g., enVision 6-8) only as supplementary tools, ensuring the intervention is distinct from core instruction and directly addresses pre-requisite skills. Maintain high fidelity to the chosen intervention protocol, ensuring dosage, duration, and instructional methods are consistently applied to maximize student acceleration. Provide learning opportunities following district math standards and utilizing adopted instructional strategies and designs appropriate for middle school mathematics acceleration.
Data Leadership and Assessment: Analyze universal screening data to assist Collaborative Action Teams in accurately identifying and grouping students for appropriate tiers of support. Administer, manage, and analyze high-quality progress monitoring data (weekly or bi-weekly) to evaluate student response to intervention and drive instructional adjustments. Lead the data analysis and decision-making process within Collaborative Teams regarding student entry into, adjustment of, and exit from intervention groups, ensuring decisions are data-driven and aligned with district MTSS protocols. Regularly report and present intervention group progress monitoring data and student outcome measures to Collaborative Action Teams, the building leadership team, and the Director of Mathematics.
Professional Learning Community Collaboration: Co-plan with middle school math teachers to ensure coherence and alignment between core instruction (Tier 1) and intervention strategies (Tiers 2/3), specifically linking classroom instruction to the foundational skills addressed in intervention. Participate actively in Collaborative Action Team Meetings and other Collaborative Teams, serving as the content specialist on evidence-based intervention strategies and student diagnostic data. Communicate regularly with middle school math teachers, parents, and administrators regarding student progress, intervention strategies, and home-school connection opportunities. Contribute to the collective understanding of the school's mathematics data story and share accountability for the results of all students. Administrative and Professional DutiesRecord student attendance and detailed records of interventions given, including fidelity checklists and instructional strategies used. Organize, store, and maintain intervention materials and resources. Operate standard school equipment and technology. Maintain strict confidentiality of student data and records. Report to the building instructional coach, building administrators, and Director of Mathematics, Innovation and Accountability. Any other duties assigned by building principals and/or superintendent or his/her designee and as allowed by the grant funding source.
