Sales Manager – Local Media & Advertising
Position Overview: An expanding local media firm is looking for an active, engaged Sales Manager to guide, mentor, and grow its advertising sales personnel. Far from a desk-bound role, this position involves working directly in the field with account representatives, engaging local business leaders, and creating high-impact advertising campaigns that yield proven results.
Key Responsibilities: Direct, coach, and manage a high-performing team of advertising sales professionals. Lead field coaching sessions, run team meetings, and perform regular performance evaluations. Assist sales representatives in refining sales pitches, addressing customer objections, and securing agreements. Track pipeline development, sales activity, client retention, conversion rates, and revenue performance. Engage directly with clients to design impactful marketing strategies and promotional campaigns. Source, hire, onboard, and develop top-tier sales talent. Cultivate strong network connections with local business owners and key community decision-makers. Identify and capture new avenues for market growth and revenue generation.
Required Qualifications: 5+ years of proven success in media or advertising sales. Demonstrated background in sales leadership, team management, or coaching. Experience across print, magazine, digital, or regional media advertising formats. Consistent track record of achieving revenue targets and expanding market share. Exemplary consultative sales, presentation, leadership, and closing capabilities. Ability to seamlessly combine team management duties with active field presence. Valid driver’s license along with dependable personal transportation.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $100,000–$115,000On-Target Earnings (OTE): $55,000 Total Potential Earnings: $200,000+ per year with performance accelerators

Additional Details: This full-time role offers a significant opportunity to drive results within a dynamic, growing business. Local field travel is required.
