About the role
Overview
The Director of Sales, West is responsible for managing sales and business operations within their assigned regional territory. The DOS manages a team of Regional Sales Managers, each of whom has sales and support responsibility for their assigned geographical territory. This territory covers AK, WA, ID, MI, WY, OR, CA, NV, UT, CO, AZ, and NM.
Qualifications
Sales executive with ten or more years of sales and territory management experience and at least two years working in a sales staff management capacity.
Proven leadership ability to influence, develop, and empower employees to achieve objectives with a team approach.
Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills.
Ability and willingness to travel extensively via air and automobile.
Self‑motivated; capable of working without direct supervision.
Accept and benefit from constructive criticism.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership to the day‑to‑day operations of the sales department, while maintaining focus on the company's strategic goals.
Ensure both top‑line objectives and expense budget objectives are managed and met.
Work directly with the Vice President of Sales to establish strategies, tactics, and go‑to‑market plans for sales for the entire company.
Maintain a high level of communication with direct reports and work with other departments to ensure overall company success.
Develop, maintain, and improve business relations with our customers.
Keep leadership informed by preparing, reviewing, and submitting activity regional reports, pipeline reports, and regional analyses.
Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to leadership.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Observe and adhere to DMP Data Classification Standard.
Conduct daily business and represent DMP following published company Mission & Values and in compliance with all company policies and departmental guidelines.
