Citi is looking for a Treasury Sales Business Development Officer to join its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Cash Management Team. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to relationship managers and clients, shaping cash management solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. In this role, you will play a central part in identifying new opportunities and delivering strategic value across a high-paced FIG portfolio. You will operate as a recognized subject matter expert across various sub-sectors which include Asset Managers, Insurance, Broker Dealers, Hedge Funds, Private Equity and Venture Capital. This role requires strong commercial drive, structuring capabilities, and disciplined risk management.
Responsibilities:
Structure and deliver tailored solutions aligned with client operating models, liquidity needs, and broader cash management.
Identify and pursue new client opportunities aligned with Citi's cash management value proposition, expanding the business through targeted outreach and solution development.
Design and structure innovative cash management solutions that balance commercial opportunity with appropriate risk, ensuring deals deliver sustainable value for clients and the firm.
Act as a strategic advisor to both relationship managers and clients, providing expert counsel on treasury and cash management strategy to inform decision-making.
Execute on key strategic initiatives within the Financial Institutions Group, translating business priorities into client-facing outcomes.
Share expertise and insights with peers and junior colleagues, contributing to a high-performing, knowledgeable sales team.
Ensure all client activity and business decisions meet regulatory requirements and Citi's policies, applying sound judgement to protect the firm's integrity and reputation.
Required Qualifications & SkillsDemonstrated expertise in cash management, treasury sales, or transaction banking within a financial services sector.
Ability to build and sustain senior client relationships, combining commercial awareness with a consultative, solutions-oriented approach.
Track record of structuring and closing complex deals that balance client value with risk considerations.
Clear and persuasive communicator who can guide and influence colleagues and clients across functions and seniority levels.
Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance obligations relevant to treasury and financial institutions business.
Capable of working independently on complex deliverables while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
Minimum of 6-10 years commercial banking experience
Undergraduate business degree
Proven track record of supporting the growth of client relationships
EducationBachelors degree, potentially Masters degree
