About the role
FULLY REMOTE:
ScolerTec is seeking multiple Performance & Data Optimization Engineers to support a large-scale cloud data modernization program. This role focuses on optimizing cloud data-platform performance, database and SQL efficiency, workload scalability, reliability, observability, and cost.
Key Responsibilities:
Tune SQL, databases, ETL/ELT pipelines, data models, and cloud data workloads.
Optimize query execution, indexing, partitioning, caching, and clustering.
Diagnose CPU, memory, disk, network, I/O, concurrency, and pipeline bottlenecks.
Establish performance baselines, SLAs, dashboards, monitoring, and alerts.
Perform workload analysis, capacity planning, scaling, and cost optimization.
Support AWS infrastructure and modern data platforms.
Implement Terraform/IaC and CI/CD automation.
Support DevSecOps, secrets management, security scanning, HA/DR, and automated failover.
Perform log/metric analysis and full-stack troubleshooting.
Partner with DBAs, platform engineers, architects, and data engineers.
Qualifications:
5+ years systems/cloud/performance engineering.
Strong AWS experience.
Strong SQL and database performance tuning.
Query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and execution-plan analysis.
Terraform/Cloud:
Formation or comparable IaC.CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, or similar. Python/Bash/PowerShell. CI/CD, DevSecOps, containers. Experience with Databricks, Redshift, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, or similar preferred.
