About the role

MS Legal Search's client, a national law firm with a strong life/work balance, is seeking a talented Real Estate Counsel/ Senior Associate Attorney to join their team in Houston, Texas. Lawyer candidates should have at least 6 years of prior real estate transactions experience including leasing experience. We are looking for a real self-starter, someone who likes to take on a high level of deal responsibility, and a real team player who likes client interaction and mentoring younger lawyers. This is an unusual position in that there is no pressure to bring in business or develop clients- plenty of work already there. This is a non-partnership track position, so great for someone who wants to do good work and get paid like an associate on the Cravath scale, but go home and not worry about the pressures of aiming towards being a partner. If you want work-life balance, strong compensation, great team to work with and low pressure, this is a great long-term position for you!

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
