We’re a powerhouse in R&D innovation, the home of Teledyne’s Central Research Laboratory, and the world’s leading provider of infrared sensors, with over 60 years of tech evolution and customers like NASA, ESA, and the U.S. Department of Defense. TSC’s Intelligent Systems Laboratory in North Carolina is a state-of-the-art research and development research facility, dedicated to R&D in the areas of computational neuroscience, deep learning, machine learning, persistent surveillance, autonomous systems, and computer vision. The laboratory currently is host to world-class scientists and engineers, with advanced degrees in computer science, mathematics, electrical engineering, neuroscience, chemistry, biomedical engineering, and mechanical engineering.
What You’ll Do: Define, develop, and deliver innovative solutions for advanced technology applications Conduct research in artificial intelligence, autonomy, target detection & tracking, and decision systems Design and implement advanced algorithms on PC, GPU, and embedded architectures Perform sophisticated signal processing, statistical analysis, and systems engineering tasks Support hardware/software integration, testing, and evaluation of applied technologies Contribute to technical reports, presentations, and collaborative research proposals Travel occasionally to support programs and collaborations (less than 5%)
What You Need: Ph. D. in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline 0–5 years of post-doctoral or equivalent research experience Proficiency in scientific programming with Python Hands‑on experience with C and/or C++ Strong background in signal processing and statistical analysis Experience with CUDA and GPU programming (strongly desired) Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance
