About the role
Metrology Technician The Metrology Technician is primarily responsible for performing precise dimensional inspections of parts and components to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards. This role involves using a variety of precision measuring instruments to verify part accuracy, conducting inspections during key production stages, and supporting prototype development through detailed measurement and analysis.
Duties And Responsibilities:
Measure and inspect parts and components using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs tools to ensure adherence to design the accuracy of measurements by calibrating tools and verifying the precision of instruments before and during inspections. Conduct inspections for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Initial Run (IR) components, verifying that all parts meet customer and internal quality standards. Measure and inspect prototype parts to support engineering development and confirm adherence to and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine measurement and inspection requirements. Record measurement data, documenting any non-conformance and provide feedback to production and engineering teams for corrective action. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance measurement processes, techniques, and accuracy. Work with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams to resolve discrepancies. Conduct Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) studies to validate measurement processes. Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
