About the role

Head of Legal Staffing Madison Davis is launching a dedicated Legal staffing practice and looking for an experienced legal staffing professional to build and lead it. This is a true market-building opportunity. The right person will have the ability to shape the direction of the practice, develop key client relationships, build the recruiting team, and create a meaningful temporary legal staffing business with the backing of an established staffing platform. You will have access to Madison Davis infrastructure, recruiting support, operations, technology, existing client relationships, and signed agreements where relevant, while having the autonomy to build the Legal vertical around your experience and market relationships. As the practice grows, there is a clear path toward broader leadership, long-term economic participation, and partnership.
What You’ll Do: Build and lead Madison Davis’s Legal staffing practice in New York Focus primarily on temporary and contract legal staffing Develop relationships with law firms, corporate legal departments, financial institutions, and other organizations with recurring legal hiring needs Generate new client relationships while identifying opportunities within existing Madison Davis accounts Build a consistent pipeline of temporary legal staffing opportunities Partner with recruiting resources initially and build a dedicated Legal recruiting team as the practice scales Hire, train, and lead recruiters and business development professionals over time Develop the market strategy, client approach, and growth plan for the practice Own revenue growth, team expansion, and overall performance of the vertical Work directly with executive leadership on investment, hiring, and long-term growth strategy
What We’re Looking For: Significant experience within legal staffing or recruitment Strong temporary or contract staffing background Established relationships within the New York legal market Proven ability to develop new business and grow client relationships Experience working with law firms, corporate legal departments, or both Strong understanding of legal staffing delivery and candidate markets Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to build and develop teams Entrepreneurial mindset with strong commercial discipline Someone who wants to build and lead a substantial practice, not simply inherit a desk Why This Opportunity This is an opportunity to create a new vertical inside an established and growing staffing firm while having the resources and support to scale it properly. The person who builds this practice will have the ability to grow with it, taking on broader leadership and economic responsibility as the business reaches meaningful scale. Executive-level base compensation, strong performance-based earnings, investment behind the build, and a genuine pathway toward partnership.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
