Preconstruction Manager - $135k - Public & Private Charlotte, NC | Full-Time | $120,000–$135,000 + Bonus & BenefitsI'm working with a privately owned contractor in Charlotte that has been building for nearly 90 years. They're growing right now, moving into new markets and taking on more complex work. They regularly compete with, and beat, much larger national contractors. They're looking for an experienced Preconstruction Manager to join a small, close team where good precon work is noticed and makes a difference to whether the company wins jobs.
The role:
You'll own preconstruction from the earliest budgets through to GMP, on both public and private work. This is a client-facing role. You'll be in the room with owners and architects, not just building numbers behind the scenes.
Day to day, you'll be:
- Leading projects from conceptual budgets through to GMPBuilding estimates, budgets and cost plans, and putting together competitive bids
- Running the CM-at-Risk and public procurement process
- Taking projects to market and managing trade partner relationships
- Finding value engineering opportunities and real cost savings
- Working directly with owners, architects and consultants
- Presenting estimates and proposals to clients with confidence
- Helping shape the strategy for winning competitive pursuits
- Working closely with the operations team so projects move smoothly from precon into the build
