Remote Pharmacy Technician Prior Authorization Representative (Pharmacy Tech I) - Work From Home
Location: Remote (Anywhere in the U.S.)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday. Assigned 8-hour shifts between 8:00am-8:00pm CT. Training is Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm CT (6 weeks) with mandatory attendance.
Pay: $20/hrSummary. Now hiring a Remote Pharmacy Technician for a high-volume Prior Authorization call center environment. In this work-from-home role, you'll take inbound calls from members, providers, and pharmacies, document accurately in real time, and support the prior authorization process with strong customer service and multi-system navigation. If you have healthcare call center experience, solid data entry skills, and can work a structured schedule with performance metrics, this Remote Pharmacy Technician role is a strong fit.
Responsibilities:
  • Handle high-volume inbound calls from members, providers, and pharmacies regarding prior authorization status and next steps
  • Document approvals/denials and call notes clearly and accurately while on the phone
  • Support criteria-based prior authorization workflows; route clinical questions to the appropriate clinical team
  • Work efficiently across multiple systems (CRM/case tools, email, chat, portals) while maintaining quality and compliance
  • Use Microsoft Teams and Outlook daily for communication, documentation, and updates
  • Maintain HIPAA/PHI confidentiality standards and follow call quality guidelines
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED (verifiable)1+ year high-volume inbound call center experience (healthcare, insurance, PBM, pharmacy, medical office, or similar preferred)
  • Pharmacy technician experience strongly preferred; active Pharmacy Tech license/certification/trainee license is a plus
  • Strong computer skills and accurate data entry; comfortable multitasking on dual systems while on calls
  • Proficient with Microsoft Teams and Outlook (Word/Excel helpful)
  • Work-from-home readiness: private HIPAA-compliant workspace + hardwired internet (minimum 25 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload)
