About the role

Assistant/Associate Professor, Psychology The Prothro-Yeager College of Humanities & Social Sciences is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor in Psychology. The starting date is Fall 2027. The faculty member will be expected to teach 12 credit hours (4 courses) a semester, contribute to the teaching mission of Psychology, and have the opportunity to start/continue their research program. The candidate must be able to teach General Psychology 1 and/or 2; Writing in Psychology and some of the following courses based on experience or graduate preparation: Critical Thinking in Psychology, Social Psychology, Human Sexuality, Child Clinical Psychology, Personal Relations & Interactions. The department of psychology regularly has 200+ majors with an active Psi Chi/Psychology club chapter. Faculty are independent in designing 1-2 courses of their choosing.
Required Qualifications: ABD or PhD/PsyD in Psychology; Specialization may include Social Psychology, Health Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Experimental Psychology, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience. The position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check. Position is designated as a Responsible Employee as outlined by Title IX. May serve as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.
