About the role

Practicum Placement (Grades K -12)EVSC is excited to offer a clinical psychology practicum placement which includes a supervised, hands-on training experience where graduate students apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world settings by working directly with EVSC students under the guidance of a licensed clinical psychologist, gaining practical skills in assessment, intervention, and case management, while building foundational competencies for future professional practice as a clinical psychologist; essentially bridging the gap between classroom learning and professional practice with intensive supervision and feedback. Students will learn to collaborate with a team of professionals to support client success. Direct client contact: Students will conduct intake interviews, administer psychological assessments, provide individual and group therapy, and develop treatment plans for clients with diverse mental health needs under close supervision. Students will also conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to school teams. Client ages will typically range from 5 years to 18 years. Supervised practice: A licensed psychologist acts as a site supervisor, providing ongoing feedback, guidance, and mentorship throughout the practicum experience. Caseload management: Students will be assigned a caseload of clients, learning to manage their schedules, documentation, and ethical considerations related to client care. Skill development: Focus on developing skills in areas like clinical interviewing, psychological assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, intervention delivery, crisis management, and professional communication. Ethical considerations: Students will be expected to adhere to the ethical guidelines set by the American Psychological Association (APA) in all interactions with clients. Reflection and evaluation: Regular supervision sessions will include discussion of case presentations, self-reflection on clinical skills, and evaluation of progress towards competency development.
Application Process: Students interested in a Practicum Placement with EVSC should submit a letter of interest and a letter of recommendation to Dr. Melissa Umali and Mrs. Brenna Kelley.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
