Jamaica Bay Inn Banquet Server Located along the waterfront in Marina del Rey, Jamaica Bay Inn, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is a boutique coastal retreat with island-inspired charm and beautiful views of Mother's Beach and the marina. The newly refreshed hotel features 111 guest rooms and suites, a heated beachfront pool, Beachside Restaurant & Bar, beach cruisers, and opportunities for kayaking and paddleboarding. Just minutes from Venice Beach, Abbot Kinney Boulevard, and the best of Southern California's coastal attractions, Jamaica Bay Inn offers a relaxed setting for both leisure stays and waterfront events. As a Banquet Server, you'll help create memorable experiences for guests attending weddings, meetings, celebrations, and other events at the hotel. You'll be part of the team bringing each event to life, from setting the room and preparing service stations to providing attentive, polished service throughout the event. You will: Set and pre-set banquet rooms according to event specifications Assist with meal and beverage setup Prepare service stations and complete side work, including stocking supplies, rolling silverware, and filling condiments Serve food and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages professionally and efficiently Check in with guests throughout the event and respond to their needs with a friendly, personalized approach Communicate effectively with guests, fellow team members, and event leadership Follow food safety and responsible service standards Keep banquet rooms, service areas, and equipment clean and organized throughout events Assist with clearing and resetting tables as needed Report missing or found items and damaged equipment or property Support other team members and departments to ensure events and hotel operations run smoothly Guests feel welcomed, cared for, and well attended to from the moment they arrive until the event concludes. Banquet spaces are set and maintained to a high standard, service is attentive and efficient, and you're a dependable team member who helps create a seamless experience for both guests and event hosts. We are looking for: Previous banquet, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred Friendly, professional, and guest-focused approach Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to provide attentive and personalized guest service Ability to follow event instructions and maintain attention to detail Basic math skills and ability to complete basic written communication Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and work efficiently in a fast-paced event environment Dependable, flexible, and willing to jump in wherever help is needed Ability to safely handle food, beverages, and banquet equipment Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, stoop, reach, twist, lift, and carry Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. without assistance Comfortable working around cleaning agents and in banquet, kitchen, and other hotel environments We offer: Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance 401(k) Vacation & Sick Leave Team Member Travel Program: Hotel & Dining discounts Hilton Team Member Rates Opportunities to connect, give back, and build community through team events & volunteering.
