About the role
Job Description:
We are looking for an engaging, customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team. As the first point of contact for our customers, you will deliver exceptional service by actively listening to their needs, answering questions, and guiding them toward the right products. You will be responsible for maintaining a welcoming store environment, staying up-to-date on our inventory of firearms, tactical gear, and outdoor accessories, and ensuring all transactions and safety protocols are handled with precision and care.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Sales Greet customers warmly and determine their specific needs and preferences. Provide accurate information regarding product features, pricing, and safety guidelines. Assist customers with product selection, recommending appropriate accessories, ammunition, or training classes to enhance their purchase. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and handle cash, credit, and financing transactions efficiently. Meet or exceed individual sales goals and key performance indicators. Store Operations & Merchandising Maintain a clean, organized, and secure sales floor at all times. Assist with receiving new inventory, stocking shelves, and setting up promotional displays. Monitor floor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to leadership. Participate in regular cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure accuracy. Safety & Compliance Adhere strictly to all local, state, and federal laws regarding the handling and sale of firearms. Complete all required compliance documentation, including ATF Form 4473 and background check procedures, with absolute accuracy. Enforce all in-store safety policies, ensuring that all display products are properly secured and handled responsibly by staff and customers.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience:
Previous experience in sales is required. Knowledge: A foundational interest in firearms, outdoor sporting goods, or tactical equipment is strongly preferred. A willingness to undergo extensive product and compliance training is mandatory.
Skills:
Safe firearm handling skills are required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail, especially when processing legal paperwork and handling sensitive transactions. Basic computer literacy and comfort learning new POS software. Attributes: Highly reliable, customer-oriented, and capable of maintaining a calm and professional demeanor in a busy environment.
Requirements:
Must meet all legal requirements to handle and sell firearms and successfully pass a thorough background check. Ability to stand and walk the sales floor for extended shifts. Ability to lift, bend, and move store merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs safely. Weekends required with 2 weekdays off. Application Question(s):Are you available to work weekends?
