Come join us! Making Room Associate Seltzer's Smokehouse is looking for a highly skilled Making Room Associate who is ready to join us as we head into a new chapter in our amazing story. With a renewed vision from our next generation CEO, the iconic Seltzer's brand is preparing for national expansion through innovation, creativity, and forward thinking. Role: Reporting to the Making Room Lead, the Making Room Associate is responsible for production of raw meat into WIP product that will be transferred to the smokehouse. Some of your responsibilities will include: Re-assemble the room each morning and conduct pre-operational inspection Move raw meat combos from cooler and into combo dumper using a walk-behind electric pallet jack Ensure lot codes and expiration dates are properly used and accurately tracked; First In, First Out. Ensure meat passes metal detection process Ensure proper materials are used in accordance with the product being produced. Input proper programs into various machines in order to make finished goods required per production schedule Report any mechanical issues to maintenance, production supervisor and plant manager and assist in repairs as needed. Ensure food safety and food defense in the plant. Qualifications: Effective, Clear and Concise communication Computer / Technology literacy Effective Problem Solving skills Day to day flexibility. Ablility to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) office hours to meet established deadlines. Ability to work as a team Physical stamina, able to work long hours on one's feet and lift and pull 50 pounds repeatedly Experience with warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks but not necessary Excellent organization and efficient time-management skills Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure Reliable Transportation Prior food manufacturing experience not necessary but helpful. Ability to safely operate moving machinery. Strong references from previous employers. Familiarity with Food Safety and Sanitation.
Must have: 6am – 4:30pm availability Sunday through Saturday. Typically work 4 days a week, 10 hour shifts.
