About the role

PsyopAnime is a cutting edge AI animation studio looking to build the Toonami of AI animation with no compromises, hard hitting, irreverent world-class anime. We're looking for a Brooklyn-based AI animator (NYC metro OK if you can come in when it matters) to work on the studio's existing IPs and collaborations, with real potential to help develop original IP as well. You'll design sequences, generate storyboards and key frames, animate them with AI, and cut the results together with actual editing skill and taste. What you'll actually do: Generate storyboards, key frames, and design full animation sequences Animate those sequences using AI tools (and hybrid workflows as needed) Edit everything together into finished pieces with strong pacing, timing, and visual judgment Contribute to the studio's IPs and collaborations while helping shape original projects Learn and work inside the PsyopAnime animation process (we'll train you on our pipeline) You should have: Solid visual taste and the ability to design sequences, not just prompt and hope Genuine love of anime and manga - you can tell when something feels right versus generic "anime-ish" Real enthusiasm for AI as a creative tool An irreverent sense of humor Willingness to learn our process while already bringing core editing and visual skills
Nice to have: Hands-on experience with tools like Blender, AI models and AI animation tools Any background in traditional animation, motion design, or storyboarding A reel that shows both samples of work and clean, intentional editing If your work looks like someone who understands anime timing and can actually assemble a sequence, we want to see it.
Location: Brooklyn-based preferred (NYC metro considered). Hybrid/on-site when it makes sense.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
