Job Description
Position Responsibilities: Responsibilities of a KIPP Nashville Bus Monitor include, but are not limited to:
  • Meet and greet visitors, staff, and students with a smile
  • Ensure all students are seated, silent, and respectful throughout bus rides
  • Communicate disciplinary issues to the Dean of Students
  • Build positive and meaningful relationships with students and staff
  • Support the bus driver as directed
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned
  • Partial Listing of Minimum Qualifications:
  • Holds successful experience with working with elementary and/or middle school aged children
  • Demonstrates a mature, calm and responsible attitude in dealing with the students, and has the ability to work cooperatively with other employees and the general public
  • Has considerable ability to communicate effectively (both orally and written), and to follow both oral and written instructions

  • Expectations of KIPP Nashville bus drivers and support staff:
  • Arrive at school by 5:30 a.m. for the morning route
  • Arrive at school by 2:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. (depending on location) for the afternoon route
  • Ride the morning and afternoon routes Monday-Friday.
  • Participate in professional development
  • Supervision: Work is performed under the continuing supervision of the Director of Transportation.
