About the role
- Perform groundskeeping duties across all Smithville properties (50%)
- Mow grass, trim landscaping, and remove trash
- Cut trees and clear brush and debris
- Remove snow and ice as needed
- Operate power wash equipment
- Learn and apply preventative maintenance practices on various equipment
- Use a variety of hand tools and power equipment safely and effectively
- Complete maintenance requests from internal customers (30%)
- Haul materials and furniture as needed
- Perform room remodels
- Carry out minor plumbing repairs
- Perform minor electrical work
- Aid and support the maintenance team (10%)
- Estimate materials needed for projects and deliver supplies
- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work sites while following all health and safety guidelines
- Report significant events, problems, or issues to your supervisor promptly
- Serve as a mentor to Maintenance Assistants
- Perform other duties as assigned (10%)
- WHAT YOU BRING
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- Minimum of 3 years of combined experience, education, and/or training that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties described
- Knowledge of safe work methods, including the ability to pull trailers and load/unload equipment safely
- Comfortable working in confined or elevated spaces and in various weather conditions
- Proven ability to follow instructions and prioritize work effectively
- Experience in building maintenance and repair and/or building trades
- Ability to perform physical labor including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching, standing for extended periods, and lifting and carrying boxes, tools, equipment, and materials
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record and experience using GPS
- Ability to pass a drug screen, DOT Physical, and background check
- In addition to the above, the best candidates will have some experience with drywall installation and finishing, plumbing and electrical work. WORK ENVIRONMENT
