About the role
Multi Family Office - Relationship Manager | Richmond, VAAn established wealth management firm with a Multi-Family Office practice is seeking a Relationship Manager to serve existing high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families. The focus is building trusted client relationships: understanding each family’s needs, leading ongoing conversations, recognizing when specialized advice is needed, and bringing in the appropriate investment, trust, estate, or tax professionals. The Relationship Manager remains the consistent point of contact and ensures follow-through across the broader advisory team.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for a portfolio of family clients and develop a deep understanding of their priorities.
Lead and coordinate family meetings, investment reviews, and planning discussions.
Identify needs across investments, trusts, estate planning, tax, philanthropy, and broader family office services; involve the right specialists at the right time.
Coordinate internal professionals and outside attorneys, CPAs, trustees, and other advisors; maintain accountability for implementation and follow-up.
Navigate sensitive family matters and multigenerational relationships with sound judgment and discretion.
Oversee and coordinate reporting, liquidity needs, capital calls, account activity, and applicable family office administration, including bill pay and client records.
Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant wealth management, trust, or family office experience.
Meaningful experience working directly with HNW/UHNW clients and their professional advisors.
Strong working familiarity with trust and estate planning and a broad understanding of investment and tax planning concepts.
Excellent communication, organization, follow-through, and relationship judgment.
Familiarity with Addepar and Salesforce is preferred.
