Job Summary:
We are engaging Senior Book Editors to contribute their expertise to a dynamic customer project focused on elevating editorial standards across diverse manuscripts. You'll apply your editorial expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through high-quality, real-world input. This opportunity is ideal for experienced editors with a strong background in published books, particularly those who have worked on bestselling or award-winning titles. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for collaborating effectively in a fully remote environment.
Responsibilities:
Review, analyze, and enhance book manuscripts with a focus on clarity, narrative structure, voice, and market alignment. Provide detailed editorial feedback and perform advanced line editing, copyediting, and content restructuring. Identify inconsistencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement in plot, character development, and thematic continuity. Contribute to the development of editorial guidelines and best practices for AI model development. Draft, revise, and polish editorial commentary that is constructive, actionable, and aligned with industry standards. Collaborate with project stakeholders through written and verbal communication to explain edits and recommendations. Support quality control by reviewing and refining AI-generated editorial work for accuracy, consistency, and style.
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive experience editing published books for recognized publishing houses or prominent authors. Editorial leadership on notable or award-winning publications is a significant plus. Exceptional command of English grammar, language, and literary style. Proven ability to provide nuanced editorial feedback across multiple genres and formats. Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills. Comfortable working in a remote, technology-enabled environment. Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements and editorial guidelines. US-based contributors are preferred, though highly qualified professionals from other locations may be considered.
