Accounts Payable ClerkThe Accounts Payable Clerk plays a key role in the finance team by accurately processing a high volume of invoices, ensuring timely payments to vendors, and maintaining organized, compliant records for more than 40 branches across the United States. This position focuses on manual data entry, invoice verification, payment processing, and vendor communication, while supporting month-end close activities and other accounting functions as needed.ResponsibilitiesManually key approximately 1,500 invoices per week (about 300 per day) with a high level of accuracy.Review and verify invoices and check requests to ensure proper authorization, accuracy, and completeness.Enter and upload invoices into the accounting system in a timely and efficient manner.Process payments in accordance with established payment terms and company policies, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.Reconcile vendor statements regularly and resolve discrepancies promptly and professionally.Respond to vendor inquiries, provide clear information, and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.Assist with month-end closing processes, including preparing accruals and supporting reporting activities.Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions.Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements in all accounts payable activities.Support other accounting and finance functions as needed to help the team meet its goals.Essential Skills23 years of high-volume data entry experience.Strong invoice processing skills with the ability to handle high-volume data entry.Proficiency with 10-key data entry for fast and accurate numeric input.Familiarity with accounting software such as JDE, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all work.Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage large workloads and deadlines.Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective vendor and internal team interactions.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred but not required.Experience working in a shared services or multi-branch environment is helpful.Ability to follow established procedures and internal controls.Comfort working with various accounting systems and adapting to new technologies.Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a regional headquarters that provides shared services support to more than 40 branches across the United States. The Accounts Payable Clerk works in a professional office environment, collaborating closely with finance and accounting colleagues and interacting regularly with vendors. The position involves extensive work with accounting software platforms and Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel. The setting is structured and deadline-driven, with an emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and efficient processing of a high volume of invoices and payments.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irving, TX 75039.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
