About the role
Staff Accountant Perform duties to maintain proper cash flow and provide general accounting services in corporate headquarters. Actively monitors developments within business operations. Coordinate work with third party partners as necessary. Assists in solving tax and accounting problems and serves as an experienced resource to provide new perspectives and identify solutions. Essential Job Responsibilities Prepare and analyze transaction documents for journal entries to appropriate procedures. On a daily basis, make journal entries for bank transactions, reconcile bank accounts, analyze and resolve any discrepancies. On a monthly basis, reconcile various accounts and journals. Investigate and resolvediscrepancies to maintain accuracy. Review travel expense reports and supplier invoice entries to ensure accuracy and validity, and approval guidelines are followed. Act as AP system administrator by updating Lists, Cost Centers, approvers, audit rules and work flows to ensure approval guidelines are followed and internal controls are maintained while keeping operation efficiency. Act as corporate credit card administrator for issuance, termination and reconciliation. Keep informed on appropriate accounting and finance regulations. Create & file sales tax returns to jurisdictions. Confirm that valid sales tax certificates are on file and issue credits. Assist inside and outside customers with sales tax related issues. Maintain certificate management program. Respond to regulatory bodies’ tax requests. Assist in processing income tax filing and tax payments. Assist in processing 1099 issuance. Research and stay up to date with tax laws and regulations. Work as a liaison between the Company, Government and third-party service providers. Act as a backup for other Accounting team members
