About the role

Java Software Engineer, Middle Office – Greenfield Investment Platform Join a greenfield platform build at one of the world’s largest asset managers, managing around $2 trillion in assets. The team is rebuilding how investment teams access trades, positions, and near-real-time P&L. You’ll help make that information accurate, timely, and reliable across a complex range of investments. The stack includes Java, Kafka, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Kubernetes, with AI-assisted development encouraged. You’ll stay hands-on with coding, contribute to technical decisions, and own meaningful parts of the platform. The firm’s expansion into private credit adds new asset types and engineering challenges to an already substantial investment business. This role sits within a multi-year technology transformation. You’ll bring solid Java development experience, Kafka knowledge, and strong fundamentals in object-oriented programming and design patterns. Experience building distributed systems is key; financial services knowledge is helpful. This hybrid role sits within a leading global investment manager, with extensive expertise across fixed income, asset-backed finance, real estate credit, and corporate credit. Compensation is $110,000 to $200,000 depending on where you sit in your career, plus bonus. The role is based in NYC, with four days per week in the office and one day remote. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
