About the role

We are looking for compassionate hospice volunteers with musical talents who are willing to share their gift with patients nearing the end of life. Many of our patients become less verbal as their condition progresses, but music can still reach them in a powerful and meaningful way. Hearing is often the last sense to fade, and familiar songs or gentle instrumental music can provide comfort, peace, and connection. Volunteers who sing or play instruments such as guitar, piano/keyboard, violin, flute, or other portable instruments are especially encouraged to participate. Visits may include playing soft music, singing familiar or requested songs, or simply providing a calming musical presence at the bedside. You don't need to be a professional musician—just someone willing to share your talent with kindness and compassion. These visits can bring tremendous comfort not only to patients, but also to their families during a very meaningful time. If you have a heart for service and a love for music, we would love to connect you with patients who may greatly benefit from your gift.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
